Hello!
My Mac Pro is unable to detect the scanner on my printer after an error message popped up.
So far I have uninstalled the printer with HP uninstall and added the printer again in system preferences but still, no scanner detected.
I suspect that the driver needed updating with the software, but as I am currently on Big Sur 11.5.2, HP does not have an up-to-date driver for this version.
Does anyone have ideas of how I can detect my scanner or update the driver for my Mac system?

Hi,
Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.
Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip
As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.

Hi ShlomiL,
I have followed those steps but HP easy Smart was not able to detect my printer at all.
I also noticed when I uninstalled the printer and then installed it again it would detect the printer but not the scanner. I find this a bit weird because if you install new software, surely this would include the scanner as it's an all-in-one product?
If there is anything else you think might help, I would appreciate this.
