HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer

I purchased this printer brand new from an estate sale, but the setup cartridges were not in the box.  I am unable to use the printer!  How can I bypass this error message?

I don't know why I needed to send a private message; this should be available to anyone with an ENVY Photo 7858.  Note I had to power cycle the printer once and then tried about 6 times before it switched to the "calibrating" screen on the printer.  Now everything works again.

 

Please follow the steps listed below to initialize the printer using the regular cartridges purchased from the store.

 

1. Touch the Home button once, then the Back button twice, then the Home button once.
2. Open the ink cartridge access door, and then close it. A Load Paper message displays on the control panel display, and the printer begins initializing.
3. If the initialization does not begin, repeat steps 1 and 2 until it does.
4. Follow the prompts on the control panel display to complete initialization.

 

 

Note: The buttons may not be lit. You need to press that spot accordingly to initialize the printer.
