Product: HP DeskJet Plus 4140 All-in-One Printer

I went to setup a printer I've had for about a couple of years. The warranty is now expired. I finished setting it up but it won't start without the setup cartridges. It didn't have any in the box and I put in normal print cartridges and it won't work. Is there anywhere to buy them? The Virtual Assistant said to return it to the retailer, but I can't because it was gifted to me.
