I need help setting up my printer. It appears to be out of warranty. I am enrolled in Insta Ink program.

Hi  @MikeA53,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it can be when your printer suddenly stopped working. Dont worry Let’s work together to get the printing smoothly. Could you please share the exact printer model number with me?

In the meantime, here are a few  steps you can try :

1.Check Printer Connections

Loose cables or network issues can prevent printing.

Ensure the power cable is firmly connected

If using USB, check the cable and port

For Wi-Fi printers, confirm the printer is connected to your wireless network

2.Restart Printer and Computer

A simple restart often clears temporary glitches.

Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds

Restart your computer

Plug the printer back in and power it on

3.Verify Ink Cartridge Status

Instant Ink cartridges must be properly installed and recognized.

Open the cartridge access door

Ensure cartridges are securely clicked into place

Check the printer display for any cartridge error messages

4.Run Printer Diagnostic Tool

HP printers often include built-in diagnostics.

On printer control panel → Settings → Tools → Printer Maintenance

Run a test print

Follow on-screen instructions to fix detected issues

5.Check Printer Queue

Stuck print jobs can block new ones.

On your computer → Control Panel → Devices and Printers → Your Printer

Right-click printer → Select 'See what's printing'

Cancel any stuck jobs

Try printing a fresh document

I hope this helps.
