Will the printer make copies from the front panel?

Running the diagnostics at https://support.hp.com/us-en/topic/printscandoctor may help resolve the issue.  Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Thanks Bob for your reply. the printer is working properly with other devices and from the front panel. I have downloaded the print and scan doctor and it says there are no issues.

This just started happening for no apparent reason

thanks

OK, since you mention several computers are using the printer I assume you have either a wired or wireless network connection to the printer.  Is that correct?  If so go to the printer's front panel, click the Setup icon from the home screen.  You may need to click the right arrow button to get to the Setup icon.  Next click Network.  Near the bottom of the list click View Network Summary, then click Wired or Wireless depending on how the printer is connected to the network.  In the information window there will be a list which includes the IP address of the printer.  Write this down for later.

With the IP address for your printer go back to your computer and enter the IP address into your browser.  This should bring up the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).  The ability to get to the printer's EWS will indicate you are on the same network and do not have issues there.  Next click the windows key and type Control Panel.  Open the control panel and select Devices and Printers (if you are in category view this would be in Hardware and Sound,  Devices and Printers).  Right-click on the Officejet Pro 8610 and select Printer Properties, Ports, Add Port, Standard TCP/IP Port, New Port, Next, then type in the Printer IP Address you found earlier., Next, Finish, Close, Apply.

Now try printing a test page from your computer, things should work now.  If not please give details of any error messages you see.

Great, this has worked for everything except PowerPoint. Thank you so much, really appreciate your help.

Any ideas why on  PowerPoint its just disappearing

thanks

What version of Powerpoint do you have?  One thing to check - go to the Print menu and check the Printer.  Does it show a green checkbox next to the printer icon?  Also, click the down arrow in the printer box and make sure the proper printer (your Officejet Pro 8610) is selected.

If that does not resolve the issue please give more details - are there any error messages?

Hi

I'm using PowerPoint 2019 (within Office 2019) The is a green checkbox and it is the correct printer. I'm trying to print four slides (2 per page) sometimes an eighth of the page is printed then it stops then a black page emerges. Other times the print request shows in the what's printing box then disappears without printing.

Thanks

Sorry I have not been able to find any good suggestions for issues printing from Powerpoint 2019.  It seems most suggestions have been related to issues with the size of the files.  The two suggestions I saw posted suggested printing from the web version of Powerpoint 2019 or printing Powerpoint files from Google Slides.

If this does not resolve the issue I would suggest posting a new thread specifically for the issue of printing from Powerpoint.

I apologize for the delay, I just found the above in my Drafts folder.
