Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to OCR scan from a HP MFP M283fdw printer to a computer. A process that use to be simple and efficient but is now pain in the rear. I followed Sandytechy20 instructions, and those instructions are inaccurate.  I have a modern Dell Inspiron 7706 computer running Windows 10. The HP Smart app that is on my computer does not have the same settings or tiles that Sandytechy20 suggested. After clicking on the Scan Task, There is no Edit button nor is there a "Document Handling Settings" button. As I said OCR scanning use to be a simple process but not anymore.

1. unzip

2. run the setup.exe

3. after installation, reboot the system

Andr-1611, Your directions are excellent, but I have 1 question. You had me download 2 files, the first was the 254.3 MB Printer Full Software Solution and the second was the 384.0 MB Readiris Pro 16 for HP. Your instructions had me installing the 254.3 MB file but there are not any instructions on installing the 384.0 MB file? What do I do with the 384.0 MB file?

Also, Do I need to download the HP Smart again?  Thanks, Shovelheadsam
