Hi Betty

I tried the rest process as advised.

This has not changed the firmware and the problem still exists.

Is there another way to roll back the firmware?

Hi Betty

Can you respond to this problem?

I recommend you to contact the HP Support Team regarding this as this could be a hardware issue.

This is a Firmware Issue

NOT a Hardware issue

If you can help fix this please do.

But sidetracking the problem to a hardware problem is NOT addressing the Firmware which has caused this problem.

I'm going to post my printer to this address:

So that they can do the only decent thing.......

And hurl it out of the 9th floor window!

We shall escalate this case.

Can I reverse a firmware update?

Sometimes. Following a negative media reaction to the updates released in September 2016, HP made downloadable versions available that would roll back the changes to the dynamic security feature. However, more recent updates have not attracted the same attention, so without the public and media pressure to address the issue, HP have not been inclined to make later changes reversible.

In most printers made after December 2016, there is no realistic way to reverse a firmware update. Your best option is simply to prevent the next update causing the same problem.

OR

Never buy another HP product and return every device to head office for them to send to landfill
