Hi @KirVis,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
Have you made any changes to the printer software or hardware>
There is three ways to install the firmware.
1. Update directly from the printer
2. Download firmware updates from the HP website
3. Install updates through the HP Smart app
Please refer to the following link.
Please click to download the firmware.
I suggest you delete some media profiles, previously saved on your pc, and try again the Firmware installation, it will release some space in the solid-state disk. Be sure you are using an official Firmware version (the current one which is already installed). If nothing above helps, please contact HP internal support.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Thanks but tried all of this suggestions already ...nothing works...firmware update fails each time and almost every half hour...disable firmware update function in the settings is greyed out...I cannot stop the firmware update function....its automatically set in...an absolute nuisance. There is very poor local support here in South Africa and I tried given contacts but they had no clue how to stop this Firmware auto update...I simply want to switch it OFF but cant!!
