Office Pro 8600 print fax scan copy web do not install to MacBook Pro, MacOS Big Sur, ver. 11.01

Hello Support

 

-Keep getting the message "An error occurred while trying to add selected device"

1. I have reset the MAC printer system

2. I have d/l Easy scan and added the latest drivers

3. Printer is on the network, same wifi Computer and Printer, when I click + to add a printer, the printer is visible with name  bonjour identification

4. When adding the printer, I have to manually select a driver - Officejet Pro 8600 

5. And then "An error occurred while trying to add selected device" message pops up

I am able to access HP utility through MacBook Pro, Print quality diagnostic page... but can not add the printer

Tried with driver Officejet Pro 8600 FAX , the installation went through, but only with FAX possibility. Removed it and tried again.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues installing the printer on your Mac computer.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

I recommend you download and install the printer driver from the below link and check if it helps.

 

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

I recommend you use the HP Easy scan to scan from your computer and check if it helps.
