OfficeJet 7000 Printer does not print - Error Message

I can no longer print with my printer on Mac OS X Mojave 10.14.6 using the HP Officejet 7000 E809a drivers. I have never had any issues with this printer before Mac OS X Mojave. I can print with the Generic PCL Laser Printer driver but that doesn't let me take advantage of the printers features.

I get the error: printing - can't open "/private/var/spool/cups/tmp" and it doesn't matter what kind of document or file I am printing. I am able to use the HP utility to print a test page and that works fine.

Please tell me there is a fix for this? I don't have a printer right now!

I understand you are not able to print.

Let us try these steps:

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

If the issue persists, reinstall the printer using AirPrint driver

1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.

3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.

4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.

5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.

Note: Use Bonjour multifucntion.

6.) Try to print
