Is there a solution for windows ?

the only thing have seen is via logging a call with the paid for support service ?

HP Recommended

Yes, just had a chat with a support agent for HP.

Their fully aware of the situation regarding the firmware update issue and a fix is expected by the end of August 2023 🙂

If you subscribe to Instant Ink, you should get an email stating the update is available, if not you should start up your HP Smart application and update through the application.

Hope this Helps.

Hi:  I went to the site in your post but it doesn't take me to a firmware download page.  i can't find the firmware update files.  Can anyone tell me where it resides?  Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I really appreciate you looking into this and posting a possible solution but when I go to the link in your post all I get is an option to download HP Easy Start, I don't see anyplace to download the firmware you mentioned.   I'm probably doing something wrong but don't know what it is.  Should I reset the printer to factory settings and try again?  I'm at a loss and any suggestion would really help.

Thanks,

Same here.  Frustrating.

Add me to the growing list of annoyed users whose HP8025 continuously goes into the fail to update mode and drops offline.  The update the printer is trying to (and failing to) load is:

Firmware Version : MALBECPP1N001.2314A.00

Built Date : 2023-04-05

Earth to HP:  Don't you test these updates before you release them?  When are you going to fix this problem?

Even though my printer is out of warranty I contacted HP support anyway.  A "tech" took some pity on me and sent me the following as a "workaround".  I haven't tried it yet but thought I'd pass it along anyway.

I had not had success in finding the firmware updates in the links provided above but I had success in another way. I opened the HP Smart app that I had already downloaded to my desktop.

Printer Settings

Settings > Advanced Settings

Printer Updates

Firmware Updates (OK)

Check Now

It didn't seem to download anything, but after that my printer no longer displayed the need to update.

Thanks TSinKS - I wonder if HP has decided, until they can fix the firmware issue and printer going offline, to cancel the firmware update and it's consequences/ramifications for printers that don't have the firmware update,  At least, for the time being, the printer can function and act like a "normal" printer without the 00% download message.

Lo and behold, I came home today to find my printer stuck and in need of a reboot.  Once I did that, the firmware issue is gone, and it says I now have the latest firmware.
