Hi,
Since the past week, my HP OfficeJet 8025 failed to update. I got an error message on the printer screen that the update failed to download and ask me to retry or cancel.
I tried several times, trying to change DNS server, only ipv4, etc... no luck. Every time, i got this error message.
My current firmware version is :
Firmware Version : MALBECPP1N001.2243A.00
Built Date : 2022-10-19
thanks.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
According to the Firmware installation package, your printer firmware is up-to-date.
The current version:
001.2243A
Try to cancel the update.
Perhaps follow up with
Restart everything
and
HP printer turns off unexpectedly or repeatedly

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
OK - understood.
True - Disabling automatic updates is not an option.
True, too - Web Services must be running for the Ink service to stay connected.
Try / Consider
Download, Save, and manually Install the Firmware Update.
It likely won't install -- your firmware shows as current.
The manual install attempt might kick the "auto" update so it stops trying.

Hi,
i have just done this and the issue is always here.
the printer want to self update itself continuously.
The printer network connected and print correctly. It
is also correctly recognized by HP software.
i tried several solutions, like forcing ipv4 only, changing DNS servers to google 8.8.8.8, using wifi instead of Ethernet,
power off and disconnect power cable for a few minutes…
no way, the printer claim that there is a new firmware, try to download then failed and repeat again and again.
I cannot disable auto update because the printer is linked to inkjet cartridges HP service.
