Worked in the beginning then after Windows update & QuickBooks update PC gets this driver message.. Device USB\VID_03F0&PID_2454&MI_00\6&13ed42c3&b&c000 requires further installation.

Hi @ABNE,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When you receive the message "Device USB\VID_03F0&PID_2454&MI_00\6&13ed42c3&b&c000 requires further installation" after a Windows update and QuickBooks update, it indicates that the driver for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e printer needs to be installed or updated. Here's what you can do to resolve the issue.
- Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve driver-related issues. Restart your computer and see if the printer starts working again. If not, proceed to the next steps.
- Reconnect the printer: Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. Wait for a few seconds and then reconnect it to a different USB port on your computer. This step ensures that the printer is properly recognized by the system.
- Update printer drivers: Visit the official HP website and search for the driver download page for the HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e printer. Look for the latest driver version compatible with your operating system. Download and install the driver following the instructions provided by HP. Make sure to choose the correct driver for your specific printer model.
- Windows Update: Check for any pending Windows updates. Sometimes, Windows updates include driver updates that can fix compatibility issues. Go to the Windows Update settings and install any available updates.
- Uninstall and reinstall printer: If the above steps didn't work, you can try uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it. Here's how:
- Disconnect the printer from your computer.
- Open the Control Panel on your computer and go to "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners."
- Locate your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018e printer, right-click on it, and select "Remove device" or "Delete."
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstallation process.
- Restart your computer.
- Reconnect the printer to your computer and follow the on-screen prompts to reinstall the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. I had previously tried most of your suggestions several times. I followed them again in hopes I missed a step.
Nothing worked, still getting the same results. So frustrating to have a relatively new printer and not be able to use it!
I've even tried both USB (which is my preferred connection) and Wireless. Still not working
The current driver seems to be the most current with a date of 3/12/2023 ver. 56.0.6283.0
I'm at a loss.
