This printer worked fine with an older computer and a different USB cable. The serial number of the printer is [Personal Information Removed]
I have no problem downloading and installing the drivers necessary both for scanning and printing using the USB cable. I
However when I try to print from my new Mac on OS Monterey 12.1 (not available in HP drop down) the printer indicates it is printing but nothing ever comes out. This is the second USB cable I have tested so the problem does not seem to be with the cable. I tried the scanning from the installation test and that does not work either.
The ink levels are full. I can copy a page so both ink and paper are loaded correctly.I have turned everything on/off and removed/replugged wires repeatedly.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,
please download and install below drivers:
Once completing the installation open System Preferences > Security & Privacy, look for any option to allow the HP extension within the General tab, if no such option appear skip this step.
Now go to Printers & Scanners and remove any copy of your printer, now click plus and re-add it, be sure to select the printer model within the Use drop-down menu and check if you may see any difference then,

Dear SchlomiL,
Thank you for taking the time to help me. I have tried your steps and variation of your steps shutting down the laptop, the printer, removing and reinstalling your drivers and the printer.
Unfortunately the printer does not seem to receive the message to print but remains in the print queue "Connecting to Device". When cancelled I see " Unable to communicate with the printer....To cancel the print job press cancel on printer". However as the print message never reached the printer there is no cancellation option on the printer other than to turn it off. I tried this and it makes no difference.
Trying many other options I managed to access the Ink levels from the computer even if that does not work under the regular system preferences/printer tab. I made some screenshots with further details on my environment from the HP utility button I found somewhere linking through to the printer set up. It is not possible to print the Test page from HP utility.
To be on the safe side I printed a quick form confirming ink and paper are correctly loaded.
Can you pretty please see if you can tweak the driver to suit Monterey OS12?

It seems that a solution should be in this forum but I have typed the lines into Terminal and I only get the same answer as the last guy in thread ie "Could not open package for expansion: /Volumes/HP_PrinterSupportManual/HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.pkg"
I am not a programmer. It was a miracle I found terminal.
