HP OfficeJet 4652 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

No longer have color printing capability. Uninstalled/reinstalled latest windows 10 driver several times to no avail. No color options appear within printer preferences. Windows OS version 10.0.19044. Have factory reset the printer to no avail. Print Quality Diagnostic page prints fine (including color blocks). Also prints color from a MacBook. Ink levels report ok. Any ideas/suggestions?

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Does the copy print out the same way? 
  • What's the application you are trying to print from? 

While you respond to that, let's try these steps: 

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers: 

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Officejet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device. 
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files. 

To reinstall, click here.

Copying a color document prints color

I am printing the Windows printer test page-- so no "application"

I used the root level uninstall during my multiple uninstall/reinstall attempts of the driver
