Officejet 6600

My printer is offline, i have tried ALL the recommendations on the HP site and nothing works.

It used to work before (although sometimes it took a while to connect)

Reset router.

Reset Mac

Deleted & re-installed printer (could only do this when USB connected).

Wireless config shows connectivity.

If I connect my printer using the USB cable - Everything is fine, as soon as i disconnect the cable the printer shows as offline!!

HELP?

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to assist.

I understand that you have an HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One Printer. I read that the printer works fine when connected via USB to your Mac computer. But the printer appears as offline when you try to connect it wirelessly.

I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps.

May I know what version of Mac OS are you using?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Please download and install the firmware update for the printer (the firmware update is only for Mac OS X 10.11 and lower versions of Mac OS). Let the printer be connected via USB until the firmware is successfully installed.
  • Restart the printer once the firmware update is installed. Post restating, disconnect the USB cable.

Now, please perform the steps to reset the printing system in Mac OS.

I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂

Hi mate, it didnt do the firmware update.

So i went on to the HP software & drivers, then downloaded the current product.

I then reset the printer system & added the printer again.

My Mac desktop also now works once I had reset the printer connections.

Many thanks for your help.

You're most welcome. 🙂

I'm glad that the printer is working fine now. I must say that technical solutions can only be provided. Buy it was you who has performed the steps to perfection.

Happy printing!
