I cannot choose a paper tray when printing from Macbook Air. It just defaults. to tray 1 and gives me no option in change paper tray in printer settings when printer dialog box is pulled up. i cannot even find how to change default settings for printer at all after downloading driver and scanning software. The paper tray option s not in the 'print using dialog' and there's no tray option in default settings or HP Utility. Where do I find this option? There are two trays on the printer. I use tray 1 for plain paper and tray 2 for letterhead but I cannot choose which tray I want to use. This is a major oversight of HP in using macos. I know it works in Windows bc I have had this printer for couple of years. How do I resolve this or work around it?

Hi @LLC071
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the tray settings.
By default, the printer draws paper from Tray 1. If Tray 1 is empty and Tray 2 is installed and contains paper, the printer draws paper from Tray 2.
To change tray settings -
1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
2. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch (Setup).
3. Scroll and touch Tray and Paper Management.
4. Select Default Tray or Tray Lock, and then select the appropriate option.
Airprint selects tray based on what is set by the printer or you also have an option to select the tray with HP Smart App (Mac).
Make sure your Mac and the printer's firmware are up to date -
