Hi
I hope you are all well.
A work colleague gave me this 6970 printer about a year ago and never used and now I wanted to print some bunting off for VE day celebration and the printer is locked out, due to the instant ink registration restrictions.
I guess the printer is registered to them as the claim code is used, as I inputted that into the screen box.
The printer screen is locked out and all you can do is switch the printer on and off, now I put the new cartridges in which they left for me.
Does anyone have any tips and getting the printer and cartridges registered with me?
The printer seems to be inactive with the Wi-fi now I've installed the new cartridges.
Many thanks.

@DesktidyLJ, Welcome to HP Support Community!
You cannot use the cartridges with the printer anymore. Instead, I'd suggest you get a new set of new ink cartridges from the local store and install them on the printer which will let you use the printer without any registration.
Once you have the regular ink and the printer is working, you can re-enroll the printer with HP's Instant Ink program.
I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

Yes, you can re-enroll the printer. Once the enrollment is complete you will receive a welcome kit with ink cartridges in it that will work with the printer.
Try these steps to re-enable the web-services -
Step 1 Remove the Web-Services -
1. From the top of the screen, touch or swipe down the tab to open the Dashboard, touch ( HP ePrint ), and then touch (Web Services Settings).
2. Touch Remove Web Services.
Reboot the devices.
Step 2 Enable the Web-Services -
1. From the top of the screen, touch or swipe down the tab to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ).
2. Touch Web Services Setup .
3. Touch Accept to accept the Web Services terms of use and enable Web Services.
4. On the screen that appears, touch OK to allow the printer to automatically check for product updates.
5. If the Printer Update Options screen is displayed, select one of the options.
6. When the printer is connected to the server, the printer prints an information page. Follow the instructions on the information page to finish the setup.
Refer to the document HP Printers - Enrolling in HP Instant Ink for help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset, and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps!
