Now that Mac has upgraded to OS X 12.1 Monterey, my printer will not run...will HP be writing software drivers to enable this printer to work, or is it time to get a new printer?  It is a great printer that has served me well for a long time and still has lots of miles to it.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that printer is not working correctly after macOS update,  to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Are you getting any error message or code?
  • Have you tried updating the HP smart app?
  • Have you tried updating the printer drivers from HP's website?

  • Are you getting any error message or code?  No error codes.
  • Have you tried updating the HP smart app?  Yes
  • Have you tried updating the printer drivers from HP's website?  Yes, it does not show any printer drivers for the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus as available for download.
