My old but perfectly good Officejet Pro 8610 (that I keep on all the time) recently stopped entering sleep mode, which it should do after 5 minutes. I tried doing the suggested power reset (by disconnecting the printer while it's on, unplugging, waiting, plugging back in and reconnecting), but this has not fixed the problem. Are there other things I can do to try and fix the problem? If it can't be fixed, is there a problem with leaving the printer on with it never being in sleep mode? Everything else about this all-in-one works perfectly. Thank you in advance for any suggestions or advice.

Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand that your printer does not enter sleep mode, I am glad to assist you.
You might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer to fix this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.
