Hi @sporpora,
Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Power Off and Unplug the Printer:
- Ensure the printer is turned off and disconnected from the power source to prevent any electrical hazards.
Access the Output Tray Area:
- Locate the output tray at the front of the printer.
- Gently pull the tray outward to expose the internal components.
Inspect the Spring Mechanism:
- Look for the spring that has come off.
- Identify the attachment points where the spring connects to the tray and the printer body.
Reattach the Spring:
- Align the spring with its designated attachment points.
- Carefully stretch the spring and hook it onto the attachment points, ensuring it is securely in place.
Test the Tray Functionality:
- Gently push the output tray back into its closed position.
- Open and close the tray several times to ensure the spring operates smoothly and the tray extends and retracts properly.
