One or more components of the HP printing software are corrupted or missing. The print job cannot be completed. To fix this situation, HP recommends reinstalling the print driver software. I have Deskjet 3050. I dont' understand???

 I've tried to reinstall the software multiple times but I'm still unable to print anything. I'm currently using an older printer (HP Deskjet 3050)

I have the exact same problem and it appeared from nowhere. I'm running 10.15.7 on a MacBook Air. HP must have a fix. I've downloaded the HP driver four times.

I am a teacher and my printer is invaluable at home! I was able to print items no longer than 2 or 3 days ago, and now I am getting the exact same message when I try to print now. I've installed and re-installed the printer driver and still no results. I'm running macOS Mojave 10.14.6. I've also tried deleting the printer and adding it again when it says "USB malfunction" under the "Kind" category and will not add the printer (screenshot attached for reference. This does not happen on my girlfriends 2020 macbook air, though that computer cannot print now either as a message saying "Can't print /private/cups/ . . . " appears). 

It seems I am not alone, so hoping for a solution fast!

As said earlier I tried for hours to get my C7280 to print. Unplugging it several times and downloaded the driver many times. This morning I unplugged it for 15 minutes and connected to wifi and bingo....it printed. No rhyme nor reason why it started to work. Thankful that it did.
