HP Envy 7645
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I have been having this weird issue recently. My PC fails to print.

Just to note that my PC is a wireless desktop PC currently running the latest

Windows 10 (64-bit) 1809 version

Build: 17763.316.

The printer still works fine. I think it has to do with a driver issue. My printer is an HP Envy 7645 original model but the driver would be name HP ENVY 7640 series.

When I right-click my printer's driver in Device Manager, Update Driver and choose Browse my computer for driver software, most drivers I am able to print from my computer works fine for example like

HP PCL3 A-size Printer Class Driver Version: 10.0.17134 [4/21/2009] and Microsoft IPP Class Driver.

But when I choose HP ENVY 7640 series it fails to print.

I also noticed that when I choose Microsoft IPP Class Driver my Printer Shortcut tab is missing leaving a few options for printing.

How do I fix this? Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)
The following resource will help you :
https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

If you are not sure how to do this, the following resource will walk you through the steps:

Hope that helps!

I went through the installation process and the printer is connected to my PC. Now when I try to print it. It still would not work. It still failed to print. I clicked on the gear icon button (from the start menu)  to go into the windows 10 settings menu and went to devices and then head over to the Printers & scanners tab on the left side, clicked on my printer's name and Open queue to see what's printing and clicked on Manage to Print a test page.

In the queue box, it only showed the printing status for like a split second and disappeared. Therefore meaning that the PC failed to send information to print to the printer.

Hi,
Can you try this:

* *Note that if there are other printers installed, these will need to be reinstalled after this.

Step 1. Uninstall the HP Software from your PC. Please follow the steps provided to uninstall the printer software in the link:

Also, please follow the steps provided below to completely remove the printer software from printer properties.

Step 2. Open the Print Server Properties dialog window by doing one of the following:

• Open “Devices and Printers” (not Win10)
• Select any printer and then click "Print server properties" at the top of the window.
• Click on the Drivers tab.
