The output tray provided with this printer is too short for a standard sheet of paper the way this printer performs. An "expert" answered in another thread by suggesting they should look at the manual to see that they must extend the tray manually. Please offer a solution from someone who has actually stood in front of the printer and done the action the person is saying is a problem. Print a standard size page and see where they end up in relation to the tray. The tray structure has three parts: main base is just over 5.5", the extension is 4.5" and the little flip-up flap is 2". That adds up to 12", but the first 4" of the base is inside the printer. Printed pages get pushed out a good 3-4" beyond the end of the flip-up "brake." So you may say the tray is plenty long, but in practice is wholly inadequate for the way the printer performs. Please go use your product as your consumers do, then come back to offer a real solution.
