HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to give a friend my old HP Photosmart D110a printer.  She has Windows 10.  I see there are printer drivers built into W10, but want to ensure that she'll be able to scan.   And whether scanning will work with wifi, or only USB, or both (hopefully).

I've searched the hp site for a half hour and find all sorts of info but nothing that specifically addresses if scanning will work in Windows 10.

And then, some day, 11?

Thanks for any help.

@rwernst, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you would like to know if you will be able to scan from a Win 10/11 PC. Due to the age of the printer, there is no driver available on the HP Support site for scanning.

You may install the printer using Windows built-in driver to print

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing. Use Deskjet 990c driver if your printer is not listed.

Use a compatible scanning app to scan.

  • HP Scan and Capture app: Use this free app available from the Microsoft Store to scan photos or documents.

Go to Installing and Using HP Scan and Capture (Windows 10) for more information.

  • Windows Scan app: Use this Windows app to scan from most HP all-in-one printers.

Search Windows for Scan, and then click the Scan app  in the list of results.

  • Windows Fax and Scan: Use this pre-installed tool to scan photos and documents.

Search Windows for fax, click Windows Fax and Scan in the list of results and then click New Scan.

If this does not help, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
