@sunbala, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're facing multiple issues with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M226dw, including:

  • Front and back (duplex) printing not working
  • Multiple pages loading while copying (Xerox)

Let’s go through each issue step-by-step to help resolve them.

Duplex Printing Not Working (Front & Back)

Please ensure the duplex printing feature is enabled:

Check Printer Settings on Your Computer

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Click File > Print.
  3. Select your printer (HP LaserJet Pro MFP M226dw).
  4. Click Printer Properties or Preferences.
  5. Look for Print on Both Sides or Duplex Printing and make sure it’s enabled.
  6. Click OK and then Print.

Check Printer Configuration via Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  1. Find your printer’s IP address from the control panel.
  2. Enter the IP in a web browser to open the EWS.
  3. Go to Settings > Printing > Duplex Printing and ensure it’s enabled.

Multiple Pages Loading While Copying

This could be due to dirty or worn-out ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) rollers or incorrect paper loading.

Clean the ADF Rollers

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the ADF cover.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
  4. Let it dry completely before closing the cover.

Check Paper Type and Loading

  • Ensure the paper is not wrinkled or stuck together.
  • Fan the stack before placing it in the ADF.
  • Do not overload the tray.

Update Firmware and Drivers

Outdated firmware or drivers can cause unexpected behavior.

  1. Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads.
  2. Enter your printer model: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M226dw.
  3. Download and install the latest firmware and drivers for your operating system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
