Found out the brand new Pagewide Pro 552dw I ordered was manufactured in 2017, so possibly was a hardware issue.

 

Has anyone successfully printed custom sizes (not just envelope #10, a5, etc) from Tray 2?  Trying to do bulk printing and going to order another (hopefully newer!) PageWide printer.  Need to get this project done for May, and do monthly from there.  Using a Macbook and been through tech support for the 552dw...so returning and going to order directly from HP this time.

Hi,

 

Hope you are fine, for custom size printing on tray 2, it is recommended to update the paper settings from the printer menu to match the media loaded on tray 2 and then if possible try to use different drivers like secure airprint or generic postScript driver to have paper handling options on the printing menu to customize the paper settings.
