HP Officejet Pro 6978
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

EVERY TIME MY HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 Goes Into "Printer Maintenance" Mode, It First Feeds One Blank Sheet Of Paper Through, And Then The Next Sheet of Paper ALWAYS Jams.

And After I Clear The Jam, And Hit "OK" It Will Jam Again.

So, I Have Resorted To Pulling Out The Supply Paper, When "Printer Maintenance" Begins, Or After The First Jam, Then Only Putting It Back When "Printer Maintenance" Is Complete.

Any Idea As To Why This Is Happening?

Welcome to HP support community.

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware
