Whenever I sent a print job from my computer, the printer display keeps prompting for Letter size paper.  How do I get the printer to be at A4 paper size ?

Btw, I've set both the printer driver in my computer and the printer itself to A4 Plain.

The A4 plain setting in the HP printer is set in both the Tray2 (where the actual paper is) as well as the Default Paper Size in Setup/System Setup/Paper Setup menu.

Please help.

Hi,

From the printer screen tap the Setup icon, then select System Setup.

Select Paper and Tray and then make sure the default Paper Size is set as A4, the default paper type is set as Plain Paper.

Next, select the different tray, you should likely see only Tray 1, there ensure the default paper size is set to Any Size, the Paper Type to Any Type, then try printing and check for any difference.

Thank you Shlomil for replying.

Unfortunately, that's what I did and the printer prompted asking to accept what's in the tray.  As said in my initial message.

Settings are of A4 plain in -

a) Default (General) and

b) Default (Tray2) as printer in tray is Tray 2.

c) in printer driver in my computer.

As per a), b) and c) - printer display prompted Letter size and to accept whatever paper size in Tray 2.

However, when I selected ANY for Tray2 leaving a) and c) as per selected above; the printer start printing without the printer display prompt of Letter size.  However, the printout had a wider left margin.

I will observe more when I print more jobs.
