Hi @Rkramer724,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If your HP 8139e printer isn't locking the paper guide correctly for 8.5 x 11 paper, which is causing it to grab multiple pages and jam, try the following steps:

Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no small pieces of paper or debris stuck in the paper tray that could be preventing the paper guide from locking into place.

Inspect the Paper Guide: Examine the paper guide to make sure it's not damaged or misaligned. If it seems loose or isn't locking properly, it might be worth gently adjusting it or pushing it back into place.

Adjust the Paper Stack: Make sure that the paper stack is not overfilled. Also, fan the stack of paper before loading it into the tray to ensure that the pages are not sticking together.

Reset the Paper Size Setting: Remove all the paper from the tray, adjust the paper guide to a smaller size, then reset it back to 8.5 x 11 to see if it locks into place correctly.

Load the Paper Correctly: Ensure the paper is loaded snugly against the guide, but not too tight, as this can cause the guide not to lock.

Reboot the Printer: Sometimes, a simple reboot of the printer can reset any sensors or minor mechanical issues that might be causing the problem.

If none of these steps work, there may be a mechanical issue with the paper tray or guide. In that case, contact HP phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
