HP DeskJEt 3638
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I recently replaced my wireless network and i forgot to change the settings on my DeskJet 3638 before removing the old one. Now that I try to connect my printer to the new wireless network I get a message saying "The username and password assigned to this device by your administrator are required to perform this task". I don't remember ever setting a password to my printer and I've run out of guesses. It won't let me press "join" without that password. What do I have to do?

@Karin7

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

Let's try the below steps that could resolve the issue.

Network defaults on this printer.

Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

If the issue persists,  unplug the power chord of the printer for the back.

Then, Press Power Button + Cancel button while connecting the Power cable.

Keep me posted, how it goes!
