Hello,

I 'm not sure if I failed or it's a bug, but I "forgot" the admin password for my printer and the ews.

I changed it using my password manager, so it shouldn't be written wrong or anything.

Now I'm not able to login to my device. Setting it to factory settings isn't possible either, because you need to login before.

Please help me to perform a hardware factory reset.

Greetings

Hello,

Please perform an restore the printer to the original factory defaults as follows:

  1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch Setup () icon.
  2. Touch Printer Maintenance, and then touch Restore.
  3. Touch Restore Factory Defaults.
A message appears stating that the factory defaults will be restored.
  4. Touch Continue. The printer will restart automatically.

Let me know if this has solved the issue or/and if the Restore Factory Defaults option is locked?

Hello Mans,

thank you for your fast reply to my answer.

Unfortunately I'm not able to perform those steps, because I need the password to get into these settings.

So I need a work around for resetting it without password. Or resetting the password of course 🙂

Hi Mans,

thank you very much. This was exactly what I was looking for! 😄

I found out, what the problem was before.

I didn't "forgot" my password. It was too long for the system to accept, so it was shortened.

It didn't showed me an error or something, it just saved it in the shorter version. It was nowhere told, that there is a maximum limit of letters. Just as a little tip/feedback 😄

Greetings
