My printer has not been in use for years.  I turned it on and I get an error of a paper Jam.  I took out all the paper and checked to make sure there wasn't any paper stuck anywhere in the printer.  Then I went through it with an air duster to make sure there was no debris or dust.  I cleared the error and then it came back up again.  I lifted the main part of the printer where the ink carriage is and that doesn't move.  It is locked in the right side of the printer.  I'm not sure really what else to do.  I have taken everything today comes off, off and dusted it, but still no change.  I'm at a loss as to what I should do next.

Thank you,
Dayna Webb

Step two: Print a printer status report

Print a printer status report. See the section on how to use these solutions at the beginning of this document.

  • If these steps resolved the issue, and the printer status report prints, there is no need to continue troubleshooting. Reconnect the USB cable, and then try to print again.

  • If the issue persists, continue with the next solution.

  • If the printer status report does not print, continue with the next solution.
