@Bhumika20, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Deskjet 4100e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP DeskJet 4100e printer is showing an "Invalid PIN" error even when entering the correct PIN, try these troubleshooting steps:

Verify the Correct PIN

  • The PIN for Wi-Fi Direct is printed on the label inside the printer’s cartridge access area or on a sticker at the back/bottom of the printer.
  • The PIN is case-sensitive, so enter it exactly as shown.

Restart the Printer and Devices

  • Turn off the printer, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer, mobile, or router (if applicable).

Use HP Smart App to Connect

  • Download and install the HP Smart App (if not already installed).
  • Open the app and add your printer using "Set up a new printer."

Reset Wi-Fi Settings on Printer

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi & Cancel buttons (or Wi-Fi and Information button) for about 5 seconds until the power light blinks.
  • This will restore network settings to default, allowing you to reconnect using HP Smart.

Try WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) Instead

  • On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi button until it blinks.
  • Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes to connect.

Manually Set Up Using USB

  • Connect the printer to a PC via USB and install drivers from the HP website.
  • Configure Wi-Fi settings manually.

Factory Reset the Printer (if nothing works)

  • Press and hold the Resume (🔄) button for about 10-15 seconds until the power button blinks.
  • This resets the printer to factory settings, allowing you to set it up again.

If the issue persists, let me know which step you tried and any error messages you see! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
