I have an HP LaserJet M10005 MFP, a friend lent me an iMac with a macOS Catalina. When I connect my printer to this iMac, my scanner and duplex will not work. How do I solve the problem? I installed the 5.1 printer driver for macOS Catalina but again it won't. The scanner doesn't seem to exist, and double-sided printing has no chance of activating.

Hi,
Scanning is no longer supported for an M1005 MFP printer for years, Snow Leopard (10.6) was the latest version to support scanning, only print functionality is provided for your printer by HP 5.1.1 Printer Software Update for any later version:

For duplex printing you may use the Pages to Print setting, auto duplexing is not supported for the printer, manual duplexing from a Mac can be done using the Pages to Print option, as explained below, see Step 4 and further for manual duplex printing from a Mac:
