Hello!

I have a 3x5 pdf on Safari that I want to print to a 3x5 card. I have created a custom size of 3 in x 5 in and zero margins. I have loaded the card in the tray that opens up with the arms at the size. When I print, the text is not on the card. The printer is not out of ink.

Might there be a way for me to do this? Thanks for your help!

Your choice of zero margins could be the problem. this printer will not do edge to edge printer, that is a function of the way laser printers work. HP recommends a minimum margin of .25 inch on each side and top and bottom.

I attempted first with .25 inch margins before changing to zero margins. Same results on both.

What happens if  you feed a full sheet of paper instead of the small piece does text appear anywhere? To confirm you are moving the paper guide so that the paper is tight between them correct?

When I feed a whole sheet of paper the text appears in the lower left corner of the 8.5x11. Yes, I am moving the paper guide arms to be snug around the 3x5.

Might I need to somehow tell the printer to print the PDF at the top center? If so, how do I do that?

Hello turonn ,

Reader or Acrobat (Windows)

Choose File > Print.

In the Page Handling area of the Print dialog box, make sure that Auto-Rotate and Center is selected. (This option is selected by default.)

Click OK to print.

I somewhat see what we are doing. If I select auto orientation, and "actual size". It will give me the print out centered on an 8.5 x 11 page. This puts the printed area halfway out of scope for my 3x5 - some printed on the card, most off the card. Might there be a way to center it on the page left to right, but push it to the top of the page?

If I change the paper size to be 3x5, both auto and "portrait" orientation does not print anything -- I think the print area is off of the 3x5 card. If I put in 8.5x11 paper, this is confirmed as it prints in the lower left corner instead of centered on top.
