I am trying to print cards from Hallmark Software. I can change the size of the card in the software but the printer refuses to print anything except 8 1/2" x 11". I changed the printer to C4 in both the printer and the software. Still no response.

Hi @DKHin,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

You're using the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3301fdw and trying to print a custom card size (like C4) through Hallmark software, but the printer seems locked into printing only 8.5" x 11". You've already taken smart steps by adjusting the paper size in both the software and printer settings, yet nothing is coming out. Let's walk through what may be causing this and how to fix it.

1. Load C4 Paper in the Tray Manually

  • Open the tray and physically load the C4 paper. Make sure the paper guides are snug.

2. Set Paper Size on Printer’s Control Panel

  • On the printer's touchscreen:
Go to Settings > Paper Handling > Tray 2 > Paper Size, and manually set it to C4.

3. Change Printer Settings in Windows/Mac Driver

  • In the print dialog box, when printing from Hallmark:
    • Select "Printer Properties" or "Preferences" next to your selected printer.
    • Set paper size to C4 in that dialogue as well.
    • Make sure scaling is set to "Actual Size" or "100%", not "Fit to Page."

4. Turn off Tray Protection (if enabled)

  • On the printer’s control panel or embedded web server (EWS), go to Settings > Tray Protection, and turn it off for Tray 2.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
