The problem was solved when I happened to meet an engineer, he said to wet my finger and run it over the wheels that grab and load the photopaper as the dust from the paper clogs them up so they don't grip the hevier paper straight away.

Hey @martinnoz,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you are having some issues with printing cards from your Windows 7 PC. I can help you with that, however I am going to need to know which program you are printing from as well as if you have the same issue when printing from other programs. Once I know that I will be better able to assist you.

Yes I realised later that as I have no other problems with the printer it must be the programme which is "Serif Page Plus 9" if you have any ideas I would be greatful.

If you can print from most programs, but Serif Page Plus 9 does not print properly, chances are it's a setting within the program that would need to be changed. The following can be attempted though:

  1. If the printer is connected through a USB cable to your PC, remove it.
  2. Close all programs you have open.
  3. Click on Start and open Devices and Printers.
  4. Right-click on any icons of your printer listed.
  5. Click on Remove Device.
  6. If you removed the USB cable, connect it. If not, click on Add Printer to add a new print queue for your printer.

This will reset your print system and may resolve your issue. If not, the next step would be to check the print settings within Serif Page Plus to see if there is a setting you can change. If it is a two-sided printing option, checking your two-sided options may help.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you can narrow down the issue, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.
