Not sure where you are looking.
Printing labels (sheets of paper with labels of various kinds) is primarily a function of creating the label - usually using a template of label making software - saving the file (to protect it) - and printing the sheet(s) of label paper using the appropriate page / paper size, paper type, and Source (Tray).
Reminder - Full Feature Software / full driver printer software
In almost every instance, you can expect a much better result if you have (already / previously) installed the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software for your printer. Information on the printer software is included later in this message in section "References / Resources".
Labels - Setup and Printing
Labels and the templates used to create the content vary widely.
Most label templates work with one of a couple of paper sizes, typically the "standard" size for your region (Letter or A4) and perhaps 4x6 inch for the little sheets of labels.
The following is a general example of the setup and a label template for "standard" size label sheets ("Letter" in the USA).
Hint / Suggestion: TEST your completed label file by printing it on plain paper before loading and printing your label sheets.
Download the label template to your computer.
In the case of an Avery Template, these can be downloaded in Word format (.doc).
Open the template in Word,
Use "Save-As" to create a new copy of the template file.
NOTES:
- If you know from past experience that your label sheets line up better for doing so, Convert the .doc file to .docx format.
- Converting the format might cause the template cell boundary to slide slightly to one side or the other by a fraction of an inch. Depending on the printed results, this slight shift of the content could be a "good thing", it might not matter at all, or it might skew the contents of the cells by a small amount.
- If you do not know how the template will respond when printed, leave the format in .doc - create the content, save, and print on plain paper to test the alignment.
After the content is completed, Save the file to protect the data.
Print a test page - hold up the printed paper to the label paper sheet to check the alignment.
If you have trouble printing the Word document,
Export the document to a PDF file.
Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader DC
Click the Print icon
Set the parameters in the main menu
Make sure to select the paper size in Properties
Check each other Tab in Properties
For example,
Select Shortcut "Everyday Printing" or similar
Make sure "Duplex" is OFF
Select the Source (Tray) as opposed to leaving as "Automatic".
Select Paper type "Plain" or "Thick paper" - if your label paper is very thick, select "Brochure paper"
Click OK to save change(s) and exit Properties
When ready, click to Print
Reminder: Best to test on plain paper before using the more expensive label paper.

Printer software not installed?
Method - Use the Easy Start Wrapper to Install the Full Feature / Full Driver Software
For printers that support the option,
Use the Easy Start wrapper to install and configure the printer software.
- Home Page - HP Easy Start
- Open Category Software and Drivers
- Topic: Software-Utility
- Download-and-Save the current version of the Easy Start wrapper to install your print software
- If using USB: Disconnect the USB cable between the printer and computer before installing the software.
- Right-Click on the downloaded package and "Run as Administrator" to start the installation
- Select to install the “Full Driver” / “Full Feature Software”
- If using USB: Connect the cable when instructed to do so (near the end of the installation process).
- After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in.
Notes >> Easy Start... The Journey
- Full Administrator Rights are required to complete the HP Software installation.
- About 2/3 of the way through the setup, you will be given the opportunity to select the software - select the "Full Driver" set (as opposed to the basic driver or other application).
- You can skip / ignore suggestion(s) that you add the HP Account – you’ll need the account at some point, for now, you can skip this suggestion (as many times as it insists it’s a good idea) during the full driver software installation.
- If you see it, you can skip / ignore suggestion(s) regarding Instant Ink subscription. Instant Ink subscription is NOT mandatory.
- Full driver includes print and scan functions supported by your printer and provides the printer features on which other applications / software might depend.
