I'm having the same problem after upgrading to windows 10 1709, Fall Creators Update.

Everything works except for Scan to Network Folder from the printer/scanner.  I am able to Scan from the HP software on my PC, but that's not acceptable for larger scan jobs that require manual page feeding.

I tried all steps listed on this page.  They did not solve the problem.

I also tried everything on this page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-7520-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5199461/model/51...  That didn't solve the problem either.

HP, you really need to provide additional resolution instructions and/or better diagnostic tools.  I'm a senior software engineer and can wade through most anything if I have visibility into the problem.  You're not providing adequate information to diagnose and resolve this problem.

When I try to scan to network folder, the printer gives an error, "Cannot connect to <my network folder>.  Make sure the remote computer is turned on."  The folder is correctly shared and is visible from all other computers on my LAN, so the issue appears to be an incompatibility in the HP software with Windows 10 1709.

Please help.

thanks, dave

Well I was a bit premature in my report of "success". Yes, I was able to communicate with the printer using the HP Smart app but looking at the printer settings in the Windows Settings window I still see under the HP 4650 series with a greyed out "Driver is unavailable". This means I can't use the printer from all the other programs in my system - Word, Adobe, etc.

I had hoped that when the Hp Assistant told me I had newer drivers for this device that that would fix the problem but it has not. Gosh HP it has been 4 months since this problem manifested itself totally due to the MS Creators update done last fall. It's way past time to put some resoreces on this and get it fixed.

HP print and scan doctor for Windows 10 is a free tool to help resolve the printing routines and examine issues, for example, the print driver is Absent or degenerated, availability problems, firewall problem, check the error message, the printer that was cut off, and the print jobs stuck in the lines of print. With HP print and scan your doctor can check Your HP printer botches quickly, and you can search for potential problems on one of your printer is presented, pay little mind to Whether their area or toolset.

I followed all the directions and I am able to print/scan, but do i need to always log into the alternative account on my computer to do so? Is there a way to still be able to log into my normal account on the computer and still print/scan wihtout switching users?

THanks for your help in advance.
