HP DeskJet 5820 Series

I changed the router's wifi config and can't update my wifi config on the printer, since it keeps asking me for login/password which I can't remember at all.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Restore the network settings on the printer to reset the EWS password.

  • Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Refer page number 72 in this user manual for more assistance:- Click here

I hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I've done that many times but EWS keeps asking for username/password. When I print the printer status it actually says "Admin Password: Not Set", but both the HP Smart App and the EWS webpage straight from the browser still asks me for a password to do any changes on the network settings (which are all blank and reset).

I understand. I have sent you a private message with the reset instructions. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Once again, its gets reset once I follow the instructions, printers has no assigned network, but it still asks for user/password when I try to configure it to the new wifi. It works via cable but if I use HP Easy Start app (Mac) or go straight to the EWS web page, it asks for user/password to do any changes.

That's unfortunate. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for further assistance/service options is the issue persists.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
