HP ENVY Photo 7855
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Within the Printer Assistant panel, under Preferences, are a series of 'Shortcuts': Everyday Printing, Two Sided Printing, Photo Printing etc. All of these options are shown with a locked padlock. In an adjacent right hand column are options such as: Borderless, Paper Type, Two sided Printing etc.

Although these Preferences can be selected, with the mouse, when  OK is selected a warning window is posted stating

Printer setting could not be saved.

 Parameter is invalid.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Hi @SteveKFF,

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand, you're unable to save the print settings.

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Were these options available earlier?

Do you've administrator account on your PC?

Could you share a picture of printer assistant with those shortcut options?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Uninstall and reinstall drivers:

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP DeskJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here

Let me know how that pans out

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And feel free to ask any other queries as well,

Considering, this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
