Hi @Cortnie,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP DeskJet 2652 printer to your Wi-Fi network, you'll typically need to enter the Wi-Fi password during the setup process. Here are some steps you can follow to try to connect your printer.
Check for Default Password
- Router Label: Check your Wi-Fi router for a sticker that may have the default SSID (network name) and password.
- Common Defaults: If the printer was reset, it might use a default network name. The default password is often something simple like "12345678" or "admin" unless changed by the previous owner.
Reset the Printer
If you can’t remember the password and can’t find it:
- Factory Reset: You can reset the printer to factory settings. This will remove any saved settings, including Wi-Fi configurations. Here’s how:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Re-Connect to Wi-Fi
After resetting:
Use the HP Smart App:
- Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
- Open the app and follow the instructions to set up the printer.
- During setup, it will ask for your Wi-Fi network and password.
Use the Printer Control Panel:
- If your printer has a control panel, navigate to the Setup or Network settings.
- Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the prompts to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Find Your Wi-Fi Password
If you still can’t find the password, you may be able to retrieve it from a device that is already connected to the network:
On Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
- Right-click your Wi-Fi network and select Status.
- Click on Wireless Properties, then go to the Security tab. Here you can view your password.
On macOS:
- Open Keychain Access (you can find it through Spotlight).
- In the Keychain Access window, search for your Wi-Fi network name.
- Double-click the entry and check Show Password (you may need to enter your Mac’s administrator password).
Once you have the password, you should be able to connect your HP DeskJet 2652 printer without any issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
