Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting driver installation issues, I am glad to assist you.

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.

Thanks for picking this up. I followed your steps below. One note: at the step Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom. Need to remove the driver and package for complete removal.

I have completed all the steps and installed the HP Smart App via the add printer steps. The printer is recognized and listed and no longer offline, however, when printing the document goes into error status and nothing prints.

Interestingly enough, I am able to scan from the device which means windows is communicating with the device. I just can't get anything to print. Ran through the troubleshooter 2x but no luck.

In the HP Smart App these are a few of the items in the status:

Status: Printer status unknown

Installation Status: Not installed

Connection Type: Network

Connection Status: Active.

Thoughts on next steps?

  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Keep me posted.

Cheers.
