Hey guys!  I was hoping someone would help me with what Package to Uninstall.

I Installed this package from the page below but really don't need it all: HP Photosmart C4700 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver.  Now because my computer is kinda slow, wanted to Uninstall what is not needed.  Hopefully soon will get some better components and won't have to worry about speed as much.

I want as little as possible left over, just need to print wireless, scan and adjust Ink Volume.

1. Wireless

2. Scan

3. Adjust Ink Volume

I will do the removal with Revo if can just get some advice.  Don't really want to Uninstall every thing if not needed.  The issue is, some of the drivers are Hidden, and in what package they belong I don't know.  If this is not common knowledge here will just Uninstall every thing.

I will try to insert an image to show what I have left, because I did remove some of it already.  Thanks! love my HP's

Welcome @pcpunk,

Thanks for participating in the forums! I see you would like to know what else you can uninstall for the printer without affecting the wireless, scanning and adjusting the Ink Volume. Thanks for providing the screen shot. I would be happy to help you.

You should be able to safely remove the following:

  • HP Customer Participation Explorer.
  • HP Photo Creations.
  • HP Smart Web Printing.

Feel free to click on the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up" if this helped. Please let me know the results. Best Regards,

Hey guys, I am now working from a new install and insntalled only the "Basic" Driver for my HP Photosmart C4750 All-in-One Printer here:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-photosmart-c4700-all-in-one-printer-series/379461...

My only problem now is that I cannot adjust the "Ink Volume" to make ink last longer, and, the default settings are really to dark for everyday use.  I looked all through the Manual, and they don't make it easy to find this info. if at all.  Don't remember where I found it years ago but can't find it in the Manual today.

What do I need to install to get this function.  I spent hours getting rid of some of this stuff on my previous install, don't want to do that again but that is the way it is looking.  As in the begining of this Thread, just want to:

1. Wireless Print, which I can!

2. Wireless Scan, which I have not tried yet

3. Adjust "Ink Volume" - MOST IMPORTANT NOW

Please HELP!  Thanks pcpunk

I guess I need to start a new Thread for this?  Meaning my last question just above this Post, as it is still similar to the original question, or is it that the Thread was marked as "Solution" so will get no more support here?

What I wanted to know now is

1. Now that I've installed the basic Driver for my printer, and am not getting the adjustment that I need "Ink Volume" do I have to install the Whole Printing Suite or can I just install something else to get this function?

Need to do some printing and don't want to use so much ink, the Default setting is really Dark.  Money is tight, health is bad, so need to save my ink LOL.

Thanks, pcpunk

Hi,

Not sure what you mean by adjustment of ink volume. However, you can set the setting to Draft mode if you printing only text so that the Print consumes very less ink. To do so follow the below setps;

1. Go to Devices & printers

2. Right click on the Printer icon and Printing Preferences

3. Click on the Tab Paper/Qulaity and select Draft

4. Click Apply and then Ok

Hops this helps!

Thanks vthapa, but the correct Term for my Printer is "Ink Volume" and is the correct way to adjust how much ink is put to papaer.  I have tried Draft in Linux because Linux don't have ANY INK VOLUME adjustment.

So, if I was not clear, I would like to know if I need to Uninstall the current Printer Driver, then Install the Whole Printer suite.  This is what it is called:

Hi PCpunk,

I have no idea about the setting you are reffering to, maybe never came across such settings. Insatllaing the full feature SW also not very sure if you will get the setting you want.
