We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. 

 

If your HP OfficeJet 6950 printer is showing Offline or Error, Default on your computer, try these troubleshooting steps:

Restart Everything

  • Turn off your printer, unplug it for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Restart your computer.
  • If using Wi-Fi, restart your router.

Check Printer Connection

🔹 For Wi-Fi Printers

  1. On the printer, go to SetupNetwork SettingsWireless Settings.
  2. Print a Wireless Test Report and check for errors.
  3. If disconnected, reconnect the printer:
    • Select Wireless Setup Wizard and connect to your Wi-Fi network.

🔹 For USB Printers

  • Unplug the USB cable, switch ports, and plug it back in.

Set Printer to "Online"

  1. Press Win + R, type control printers, and hit Enter.
  2. Right-click your printer → See what’s printing.
  3. In the new window, click Printer (top menu) and uncheck:
    • "Use Printer Offline"
    • "Pause Printing"

Restart Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.

Set as Default Printer

  1. Go to Win + IDevicesPrinters & scanners.
  2. Click on your printer and select Set as default.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  1. Go to HP Support → Enter HP OfficeJet 6950.
  2. Download the latest printer drivers.
  3. Install them and restart your computer.

Reset the Printer

If the issue persists:

  1. On your printer, go to SetupRestore Defaults.
  2. Select Restore Network Defaults (for Wi-Fi issues).
  3. Reconnect the printer and try printing.
