Hi @sol171,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Certainly! Setting up your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29w Printer is a straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you with the setup:

Note: Before you start, make sure you have the necessary items: the printer, power cord, USB cable (if connecting via USB), and paper.

Unpack the Printer:

  • Take the printer out of the box.
  • Remove all packaging materials.

Power Connection:

  • Connect one end of the power cord to the back of the printer.
  • Plug the other end into a power outlet.

Turn On the Printer:

  • Press the Power button on the printer to turn it on.

Load Paper:

  • Open the input tray and load plain paper.

Install Toner Cartridge:

  • Open the toner cartridge door.
  • Insert the toner cartridge provided with the printer and close the door.

Connect to Wi-Fi (Wireless Setup):

  • Press the Wireless button on the printer's control panel.
  • Use the arrow keys to navigate and select your wireless network.
  • Enter your Wi-Fi password using the keypad.
  • Once connected, the wireless light on the printer should be solid.

Install Printer Software:

  • Visit the official HP website or use the installation CD that came with the printer to download the latest driver and software.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

USB Connection (Optional):

  • If you prefer a USB connection, you can connect the printer to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  • Install the software, and the printer should be detected.

Print a Test Page:

  • After the installation is complete, print a test page to ensure everything is set up correctly.

Mobile Printing (Optional):

  • If you want to print from a mobile device, you can install the HP Smart app and follow the instructions to set up mobile printing.

Final Check:

  • Make sure all connections are secure.
  • Confirm that the printer is online and ready to print.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
