I talked to HP Support and the tech told me the error message meant that the printer hardware had a carriage jam and could only be fixed by a service tech. I going to replace the printer not worth the $85.00 service charge. Thank everyone for all your help. Jim Forrest

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Are you able to make a copy?
Let's try to reset the Printer here:
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.
Let me know if this helps.

The tech also had me try to doing both a partial and hard printer reset. Both of them failed and printer returned to blinking error message and all the lights blinking. I just going to replace it with another printer. Anyone know where I can get a cheap printer? Doesn't have to be wireless I'll take a wired printer if it is cheaper. Thanks again everyone for all the help!!!!! Jim Forrest
