HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer
macOS 15.0 Sequoia

Kia Ora guys,

Even though I set the print dialog settings to collate my printing pages, it will not do this.

I cannot find the settings on the HP app to override the dialog to collate either.

Help, how do I make my printer listen to me when I tell it to collate!

I have a HP DeskJEt 2820e All-in-One Printer.

Cheers,

O-Studio

Hi @O-Studio_224,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Your HP DeskJet 2820e does not support hardware-based collation directly; instead, collation must be managed through the print driver or application settings. If the printer ignores the collate option, it usually means the driver or app is overriding the request.

The HP DeskJet 2820e relies on software collation rather than built-in hardware collation. Double-check the print dialog and HP Smart app settings, update your driver, and test across different applications. If none of these resolve the issue, manual collation may be necessary.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
