Many of the printers while claiming 5Ghz compatibility are basing that claim on older standards that some of the newer 5Ghz router do not do a good job of supporting. The most reliable way around this is to configure the 2.4Ghz channel on your router with a different SSID and only allow the printer to connect to the 2.4Ghz signal.

While written to cover an issue with connection to a Century Link modem, the solution may work in this case as well.

GREAT to hear from you Sandytechy!!
The printer is an Envy 6458
Running with a Gateway Windows 11 laptop
Wifi is a TMobile KVD21 Router (gets its data from the mobile network)
When I try to connect the printer to the wifi network using the HP Smart app it sees the printer, goes to Getting Network Information and stalls forever. It disconnects the laptop from the wifi but isn't able to connect the printer to the wifi. Bluetooth is enabled on the laptop.
We have switched the Wifi from 5G to 2.4. No better. We connected the laptop to the printer with a USB cable and it works that way.
